PROGRAMME OF THE MOORS AND CHRISTIANS FIESTAS 2022
EDUCATIONAL WORKSHOPS (6th TO 10th JUNE)
During the week of the 6th to 10th of June there will be various activities and educational workshops related to the fiesta. These will be adapted to the level of the students and the stage of their education and will take place in the Bartolomé Flores public school in Mojácar Pueblo.
There will be workshops on coats of arms and masks, making medieval clothing, theatre, creation of Moors and Christians groups (comparsas) and music. The week will conclude on 10th June with a parade from the school up to the Plaza Nueva for the children’s opening ceremony of the fiesta.
The purpose of these courses is so that our children can learn the traditions of the popular Mojácar fiestas and come to value them, awakening their interest in participating and preserving them.
MEDIEVAL MARKET

The Medieval Market will open at12:00 on Friday 10th June in the Plaza Nueva and the Calle Glorieta in Mojácar Pueblo. The stalls will offer all types of artisan products and the stallholders will dress in clothing of the era.
Add to this the wonderful experience of meandering through the streets of the old town and enjoying the impressive views from the various viewing points, unique in all of the Mediterranean.
HISTORIC COMMEMORATIONS AND REENACTMENTS
FRIDAY 10th JUNE
10:00 PUEBLO Children’s parade and opening address. A spectacular parade from the school up to the Plaza Nueva, followed by the children’s opening speech
13:00 – 17:00 PUEBLO Midday fiesta. Enjoy the wonderful atmosphere in the camps of both the Moros Viejos and the Templarios, accompanied by lively music.
19:00 LA FUENTE Concentration of musketeers at the Multiuse centre.
19:30 LA FUENTE Regrouping of the troops at the fountain and handing over of the keys of the city by the Moorish King to the Christian King.
20:00 LA FUENTE March up the hill to the sound of gunfire announcing the presence of hostile troops close to the city. The large groups from each of the camps will be led by their Captains and accompanied by musicians, fireworks and musket fire.
21:30 PUEBLO Entrance of the troops into the city followed by the traditional opening fiesta speeches by the adult ambassadors, ending with an explosion of firecrackers.
22:00 PUEBLO Opening of the camps presided over by their ambassadors and accompanied by musicians. Fiesta until 04:00
SATURDAY 11th JUNE
17:00 LANCE BEACH, OPPOSITE THE PUEBLO INDALO
Gathering of musketeers on the beach.
18:00 LANCE BEACH
Dressage display and parade of horses as the Moorish and Christian reinforcements arrive, with musket shots from land and sea. This is followed by the Medieval Tournament where the horsemen compete to win the scarves of the ladies of both camps.
Finally, a march of the troops from Ankara beach bar to the Red Cross accompanied by dancers and fire.
21.00 PUEBLO Opening of the camps. Fiesta until 04:00.
SUNDAY 12th JUNE
12:00 BEACH Rally of the musketeers from both camps, with a multitude of firing of guns on the Playa de las Ventanicas
18:30 PUEBLO The Grand Parade, with all of the groups in their best finery and armaments, accompanied by numerous bands.
