Free Flight

Berja is one of the places most estimated for paragliders of the whole Europe, which enjoy their flight schedule in the sky virgitano, due to the fact that it possesses the climatological conditions necessary for the practice of the free flight, with good time the majority of the year.

Recently the Station of Free Flight The Zarzalón has been inaugurated, which joins the Network of Stations of Free Flight of Andalusia. The Zarzalón, which one finds to more than 600 meters of height, has from thermal hillsides up to dynamics. The access, though is length due to the existing difference, presents a good condition of conservation, beside possessing a recreative zone to the feet of the Saw (Park Periurbano de Castala).

The recent reform of the zones of takeoff, in order that simultaneously four or five pilots could jump, and of landing, they make the presence of obstacles void in the tracks, besides the creation of a new road of access of approximately 350 meters that joins the zone of takeoff and that of parking vehicle, making the sports practice more comfortable and facilitating the access to the pilots on having avoided the movement of the whole equipment from the forest track.
