Nature

There are few provinces within mainland Spain that can boast of rising from sea level to almost 2,000m. Berja enjoys within its territory natural areas so different from each other it is hard to believe you are not traversing the length of the country instead of just one County. They range from the sandy beaches of Balanegra to the mountain peaks of the ‘Sierra de Gádor’ (The third highest mountains in Andalusia), just 30 minutes inland. Visitors may admire many species of native plants and animals without leaving the area. It is thus hard to match such a mosaic of nature, of which some of the highlights are further described below.
