The city´s international airport is one of the principal means of communication of Almeria and it plays an important role in the development potential. It is only eight kilometers away from the city centre and it is well communicated with the other tourist resorts of the province.
This modern airport has been changing since the 90´s to meet new customer requirements, undertaking works such as the refurbishment, the opening of the building for the transport of goods and the starting of the new departures area.
During 2013, the airport of Almeria registered 705,552 passengers, 10,593 aircraft movements and 12.2 tons of loads.
