CLISOL, the art to make the plant human

Clisol is a well established company with great experience in the plastic covered Mediterranean agriculture. By means of guided visits, they show how the agriculture sector is applying the research and new technologies and they are destroying the myths surrounding this industry.

It is a way to show that good general practise obtains as a result an agricultural industry that optimises the use of natural resources and contributes to preserve the environment.  

The company´s activity joints three society pillars, THE AGRICULTURE, TOURISM AND ENVIRONMENT so that they can benefit each other as a source of wealth.

The University of Almeria amongst the leaders in data research projects

The University of Almeria participates in a leading European project in data research. The University of Almeria data research group is part of the AMIDST project (Analysis of Massive Data Streams), financed by the European Union on the VII Marco Programme, with a nearly 3 million Euros budget.

As well as the University of Almeria, the Science and Technology Norwegian University and the Aalborg University are part of this project. Their objective is to offer companies the software capable to obtain useful information from great volumes of data, for the decision making processes.

Some well-known European companies are commercial partners in this project and will apply the results obtained on this research. The companies involved are: Cajamar (Spain), Hugin Expert (Denmark), Daimler (Germany) y Verdande Technology (Norway).
